Ginna Brelsford is the Executive Director of Sahar Education for Afghan Girls. Sahar currently serves 15,000 girls annually in 12 schools in Balkh Province, Northern Afghanistan. Sahar’s vision is to provide a quality education for every child in Afghanistan, fostering mutual respect and sustained peace.
Ginna actively works in the field of “design diplomacy” (as she calls it) bringing together international development, architecture and sustainable design with a keen eye towards the impact investments of foundations. She has over 20 years of experience in government, business and the non-profit world to my commitment to gender equality, women’s empowerment and access to education for girls in Afghanistan.
Ginna has a strong background as advisor and consultant in economic forums such as the Northeast Asia Economic Forum. She holds a Masters in International Trade Relations from Tufts University, and a BA from Brown University.
