Akhtar Badshah is the founder and Chief Catalyst at Catalytic Innovators Group, a consulting firm in urban development, sustainability, social innovation, youth and entrepreneurship, and disruptive technology. Mr. Badshah is an expert on philanthropy, CSR and international development, an author and artist. His two books “Technology at the Margins – How IT Meets the Needs of the Emerging Markets” and “Our Urban Future” and two great examples of his commitment to social innovation and sustainability.
Mr. Badshah has been a member of the board of directors of several nonprofits and NGOs including the Council on Foundations, Asia Pacific Cities Forum, and United Way of King County. Today he is in the Board of Microsoft Alumni Network and is Chair of the Board of Directors of Global Washington, a membership association providing Washington state’s global development community with the tools, connections, and inspiration to make the world a better and more prosperous place.
He holds a Ph.D. in Architecture and Environmental Studies from MIT.
